The Captain's Dream
There was once a beautiful island, and on this island lived all kinds of exotic animals. One morning the monkeys were playing near the water, then all of a sudden one of the monkeys started screaming and the rest of them came to see what was happening, as they got closer they saw that the monkey had found a boat and inside this boat was a baby! Now this little creature was strange to them, cause they did not know what it was. They were all looking inside the boat when the baby started crying, well the monkeys got scared and ran off into all different directions. There was this bigger chimp that did not get scared so he picked the baby up, but the baby kept crying, finally the chimp figured the baby was hungry so he gathered some food and some cocoa milk and fed the little one. Well years went by and the baby was not so little anymore, he grew into a nice young man. Of course the monkeys taught him how to hunt for his food, how to swing from the trees and how to swim, the only thing the boy did not know how to do was speak. One day while the boy was swimming, he heard a pounding from somewhere, it was a strange noise to him, for he had not heard this before and it seemed to be coming from the other island. So he got curious and he got into the boat and rowed himself across, as he got closer the noise got louder. He got out of the boat and very quietly crept up to see what was going on, he looked through some bushes and he saw these strange creatures, they seemed to be the color of the ground when it was wet, they were all in a circle around this large rock, and on this rock was another creature with very long hair the color of a raven’s wings, as he saw one of the creatures lift his hand and in it he had a knife! The boy knew he had to think fast because they were going to kill this creature, so he started making noises like a chimp and he started going toward them, these creatures got scared because they thought they had angered their god because, for the boys hair was the color of the sun and so was his skin so they ran. As the boy got closer to the rock he saw that this creature was asleep, he kept looking because it looked strange to him somehow it was different, it was very beautiful just like the little lights in the sky that he liked to look at when it got dark. This beautiful creature was called Malibu and she was young and beautiful. Malibu opened her eyes and somehow she did not get scared when she saw this golden person, she smiled up at him and rose and she took his hand in hers, and this was a strange feeling for the boy he had not felt a human touch like this before. The boy took her and put Malibu in the boat and they went across to his island. Months went by and Malibu taught him her language, they played together, swam together they really enjoyed this new feeling of being together. While miles away out in the ocean somewhere was this English Captain just wondering and starring out to sea, it had been so long ago that he had lost his baby son, he had searched for so many years but somehow he kept missing this island. All of a sudden one of the men yelled out, “Captain! Come look through the telescope, there is some movement of human life on that island over yonder,” so the Captain looked and sure enough he saw Malibu and the boy playing in the water, so they lowered the boat, so they could get closer to the island and they headed for it. As the boat got closer, the boy and Malibu felt the wave getting stronger so the boy turned to look and he saw the men approaching them, so they ran to hide. The men finally got to shore, and started searching for the boy. The men split up, the captain was so sure that this boy he saw had to be his son, he just knew it, finally the men came back and they informed their captain that there was no sign of them, but the captain would not give up so easily, he ordered them to keep searching, then out of nowhere they heard a girl’s scream, Malibu was laying on the ground and the boy was killing a snake, quickly the captain grabbed the girl, two of the men held her down while the Captain took the poison out of her leg, the boy turned to see what they were doing to her and he reached for his knife, but when the Captain turned to look at him, it was as though he was in a trance for somehow this man’s eyes were as blue as his, and they seemed to be telling him I will not hurt you, they started at each other for what seemed like a long time. Then the captain slowly got up and went over to him he looked him up and down, he was so overwhelmed with happiness, that he hugged the boy and lifted him up, there were tears rolling down his face, the boy was so stunned because he did not understand. Then Malibu spoke to the boy and he went to her, one of the men spoke her language, so the Captain told him to tell them who he was, as the man spoke these words father and son never took their eyes off each other. The boy was so happy to learn that there were other people like him, and his father told him he would take him and Malibu back with him to the states. The boy was kind of sad to leave his friends, but he knew he had to go for he has a lot to learn about, who he really is. His father smiled and said lets go Charlie Boy.
