The Old Spooks House
Chapter 1:
Everything had to be perfect, since it wasn't every day
that the gang from the We Always Catch Our Crooks Club
Would have to face their fears and be brave enough
to enter a house. Known as the Old Spooks' house to
search for hidden treasure
"Tommy, when you asked me to come over, I thought we'd
be playing some video games and pigging out. Not
standing around your backyard pretending to play catch
in the cold." While you keep glaring at your next-door
neighbor's back door all night," So, can we please go inside
and call it a night?" Sammy Turtle whined
"Dude, stop complaining and watch. I'm telling you that
there's something weird going on at Old Spooks' place
Sammy paused and glanced at the house once again
"Weird, how? All I see is an ugly, run-down house with a
backyard full of junk and overgrown shrubs."
"Like that." Tommy Cub interrupted as he pointed to
a half-boarded-up window. Sammy turned and noticed a
Bony claw slowly pulled the ripped shade back from the
dirty window
"Awesome. That's why we've been standing out here for
hours. Just to see Spooks look out his dirty window?"
Sammy smirked
"Funny,
but no, doesn't it look like he was trying to write
something on the window?"
Tommy corrected him.
Sammy stared again, then answered
"Maybe, but somewhat we all know that old Spooks is a
bit weird."
Tommy was going to reply when another pair of claws
that looked bigger. Suddenly, it appeared at the window
and angrily pulled the shade back down
"Okay, I'll admit that was a bit weird. I thought that
Old Spooks lived alone." Sammy whispered over to him.
And before Tommy had a chance to answer, the back door to
the Spooks' place.
Suddenly flung open, a fat crab wearing a
shapeless dress walked onto the junk-filled porch.
And looked around, frowning. Seconds later, a skinner crab
came out and ordered her back inside. Tommy looked
over to Sammy,
who had a confused look on his face, and whispered
"You see, I told you something weird was going on."
Chapter 2:
The next day,
Sammy was telling the girls what had happened
last night. When Tommy walked inside their clubhouse
and announced
"Old Spooks's house caught on fire last night."
What?
"It happened around one in the morning. The fire truck
sirens woke me up. I jumped out of bed, looked out
the window, and saw that his house was on fire
"That's awful. Is going to be okay?" Cookie asked him
"Don't know? But I sure hope so." Tommy shrugged
"Before you came, Sammy was telling us what
happened." Vicky began
"Yeah, if it wasn't creepy enough having to live next
door to Spooks. Now he suddenly got two even
creepier friends who appeared out of thin air."
Tommy sighed
"I don't think he's so creepy, just sad and lonely. Can
you imagine living inside that old house?"
Without having a visitor ever to talk to." Vicky added
"Well, I feel sorry for him, especially after hearing that
the reason. He'll never leave is because he's to
haunted by all the spirits roaming around his house."

Chapter 3:
The next afternoon, Tommy asked them to meet
after school at his house
"Guess what, my dad went to visit old Spooks at the
hospital. According to him, he'll probably have to stay
there for a few more days." But besides that, he'll
be fine."

"And get this, while he was there, some female crab
Claiming to be his distant cousin. Was rudely questioning
the nurse if she knew where he kept his safe at
home." She told her that she should be more concerned
about his health than a dumb old safe or whatever.
He told them
"Good for her." Vicky smiled
"She also told her that if she's planning on going to
his room. And harasses him about this, instead of
letting him rest." She'd have no choice but to call security
and have her thrown out." Tommy added

"So, I thought that we should go inside Spooks's place,
find this safe, and hide it in a place she can't find it
until he returns."
"What? Are you nuts or something?" I don't want to go
inside some old, burnt-out, haunted house. Looking
for some safe that probably doesn't even exist.
Besides, how do we know she didn't start the fire?

Sammy cried out
"Dude, how many times do I've to tell you? There's no
such thing. Besides, the fire only caused damage to
his kitchen. We'll go in, take a quick look around,
and see if we can find it or any proof she's the one

Chapter 4:
Two days later, they climbed over the

Chapter 5:
A few days later, they returned
"Okay, Sammy and I'll lift the couch while you girls look
underneath it. The girls knelt down and slowly began
to look around. Cookie shortly found a loose plank and
lifted it with the help of Vicky and Daisy

"Great, how are we going to open it? Without knowing

He shrugged as he refolded the paper and stuffed it
back into the envelope. They quickly put everything back
where they found it. Then made their way back

None of them noticed the beat-up car parked across
the street. Neither did they notice the two
passengers staring at them with angry frowns on their
faces
Chapter 6:
Minutes later, they were discussing what to do
Next, inside their clubhouse. When the slamming of
The door caused them all to jump
"Okay, kids, we know that you broke into Spooks's
house. And from the looks on your faces, you
probably found what we've been looking for." So,
handed it over, and all will be forgiven for breaking in."
The male crab smirked
"We don't know what you're talking about?'
Cookie shrugged
"Cute, now we know that you kids found Spooks

And before the male crab could finish, a loud voice
from behind them yelled out
"Leave them alone!"
They turned around and noticed that Tommy's older
Brother Chuck was standing there, ready to attack

Time for saving your lives. Mind telling me why those
two creeps were ready to kill you?"
Chuck frowned once they were all safe inside Tommy's
bedroom. They quickly told him the whole story of
how Spook's cousin planned to steal his

"Wow, you better tell Mom and the cops about this. Who
knows what those two creeps are capable of doing
next?' Chuck told them
Hours later, they were inside the Rocky Shores police
station repeating their story
Chapter 7:
The next morning, the chief of police asked them
to come to his office. To inform them that they had
arrested Spook's cousin last night. They were about to
enter Spook's hospital room when they were arrested

But what about Spooks? Is he going to be okay?
"Oh, I'm sorry, kids, but he sadly had a stroke after
finding out what happened and passed away.
For a few minutes, none of them spoke; they were to
sad and confused to do so
Later that day, they were hanging out at Tommy's house
"I can't believe that old Spooks is really gone."
Tommy sighed, staring out his window, looking towards
his house. Cookie walked over to him and put her paw
over his. Smiling, she told him
"Me neither, but it's comforting knowing that he's in
a better place. Free from all those who want to harm him."
"Well, guys, another case, well done. Let's go over to
Honey, Mom's ice cream shop, and have a shake in Spook's
name." Sammy added

They were about to leave when they all got the same
Strange text message
which read:
GREETING, YOU DON'T KNOW ME
BUT I KNOW ALL ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU
DO. IN THE COMING WEEKS, I'll GIVE YOU MORE
INFORMATION OF WHO I AM. AND WHAT I'D LIKE
FOR YOU TO DO. UNTIL THEN I BID YOU ALL A
GOOD DAY
