Cookie's New Neighbor
Cookie's New Neighbors
Chapter 1:
"I still can't believe that they voted off Baker. off
The show last night. He's so cute, I could've sworn that
he'd win the hundred grand grand prize."
Vicky Dragonfly sighed as she and the other girls
discussed what happened last night on the Can You Sing It
reality show.
While waiting outside the school yard for their other friends
Tommy Cub and Sammy Turtle to arrive
"Me neither, I'm hoping now that Sissy Kat gets voted off
And Katie Worm wins the whole thing."
Cookie added
"And speaking of the show, I wonder what's keeping the
boys. If we don't leave pretty soon, we're going to
miss it." Daisy Penguin began
"I know, I know." A voice from behind them cried
"Where have you guys been? We've been waiting for
you for the past ten minutes." Daisy frowned
"Sorry, but I had to grab something from my locker, and
it wouldn't open," Sammy explained
A few minutes later, the gang was hurrying to get to
Cookie's house. When they turned the corner to her street
They noticed that there was a moving van parked inside
her next-door driveway
"Hey, Cookie, looks like you're getting some new neighbors,"
Vicky told her as they watched a thin boxer pleading
With the movers
"Please, be very careful unloading the boxes."
"Don't worry about it, mister, we've been doing this for a
very, very long time." One of the movers smiled
"Yeah, I believe it's been an hour or so!" The other mover
laughed. The boxer groaned at the mover's bad joke
He was about to go back inside the house when he
noticed that the gang was slowly approaching him
"Hello, kids," He smiled
"Hi, my name is Cookie, I'm your new neighbor. And these
are my friends Vicky, Daisy, Tommy, and Sammy."
Cookie shyly smiled back
"Well, it's very nice to meet you kids, I'm Mr. Crow."
"So, are you moving in?" Sammy asked him
"Nah, Sammy, they're just getting ready to have a big
yard sale," Tommy smirked. A fluffy poodle walked up and
joined them
"Hi, hon, who are your new friends?" she asked him
"This is Cookie, and her friends. Cookie's our new neighbor."
He smiled. The poodle was about to answer him back
When one of the movers rushed out of the house and cried out
"Hurry up, Todd, just toss those boxes. I don't want to be
here all day."
"Did he just say toss?" Mr. Crow whined
"Umm. Excuse us, kids, but we better go see what they're
doing before they destroy our house." Mrs. Crow told
them. Before she and her husband hurried up their
walkway
"Wow, did you see the look on his face?" Daisy laughed
"Yeah, I thought he was about to have a heart attack or
something?" Tommy added
"I sort of feel bad for them. Maybe, we should help them
out." Vicky told them
"Are you nuts? If we do that, we might miss the show."
Tommy frowned. Vicky looked inside the moving van, then
added
"There's not a lot of stuff left. It'll only take us a couple of
minutes." She shrugged
Chapter 2:
The gang quickly put down their book bag and started to
Pick up boxes
"Hey, Sammy, do you need help with that?"
"No, I got it. Just let me know when I reach the end of the
ramp." He answered Tommy
"Excuse me, kid, but can you please put that down."
An annoyed voice cried out
"It's okay, Mrs. Crow, I got it." But when Sammy went to step
off the ramp. He tripped, causing the overgrown toy duck
that he was carrying to rip on the edge of the ramp side
"Oh, dear, are you alright?" Mrs. Crow cried out, rushing
over towards him
"Yeah, but I can't say the same about your toy duck
Sorry, maybe, I can." Sammy began
"Whoa, is that money coming out of it?" Tommy interrupted
"What money?" Mr. Crow asked joining his wife
"Oh, Sammy, accidently ripped a hole on the toy duck
and now there's a whole bunch of money coming out
of it." Tommy explained
"Oh, that's not money, it's the toy's stuffing."
Mr. Crow laughed
"Green stuffing? Never seen that before." Tommy frowned
A voice from behind them interrupted
"I told you just drop it. And give me a hand."
One of the movers cried out
"Oh, great, what's wrong now?" Mr. Crow sighed before
rushing up their driveway, followed by his wife
Cookie looked over to her friends and could tell that each
of them were thinking. The same exact thing she was
There's something very wrong with her new neighbors
Chapter 3:
The next day, Cookie and her mom were inside their
local bank. And while she waited for her mom to
finish talking to the teller. She spotted her new neighbor
Mr. Crow, talking with one of the security guards. Who looked
very nervous when he took a big yellow envelope from him
"That's pretty weird. I wonder what's inside that
envelope? And why do they both look so nervous?"
She thought to herself
"Whoa, maybe it was some hush money or something like
that?" Tommy told them after hearing Cookie's story
"Really, Tommy, why would he give the security guard
hush money?" Daisy frowned
"Maybe, the Crows are some bank robbers. And are
planning to do their next heist and need the security
guards' help." Tommy shrugged
"Oh, please." Sammy began
"Dude, think about it. Why else would they hide money
inside a toy duck and lie about it?" That's probably
where they hid the money from their last robbery."
Tommy explained
"That sounds pretty far-fetched, don't you think, Tommy?"
Sammy asked
"Then you explain why he'd give him an envelope full of
money," Tommy asked him
"Tommy, first, we don't know if it was full of money. But let's
just say you're right, we're going to need some
real proof. To get anyone to believe us."
Cookie told them
"Well, then that's what we're going to do,"
Tommy suggested
Chapter 4:
A few days later, the gang met inside their clubhouse
to compare notes
"We've been following the Crows for the last couple of
days. And all they've done is go to work and the print
shop." Vicky sighed
"Talk about having an exciting life." Sammy laughed
"How did it go with the security guard? Did he tell
you what was inside the envelope?" He added
"You mean besides him laughing at us? Not so good."
Vicky answered him
"It wasn't even real money, like we thought. It was funny
money." Daisy began
"Funny money?" Tommy frowned
"Supposably, Crow takes your picture and turns it
into a cartoon. And print it on a dollar bill."
The security guard thought it'd be a cute gift to give
his girlfriend, of them together. And that was what was
in the envelope." She explained
"Oh, maybe we were wrong about them?" Maybe, the Crows
aren't bank robbers after all." Sammy shrugged
Tommy was about to answer him back. When Cookie
rushed in holding up a metal plate
"Tommy was right!
Look what I found while I was searching through their
trash cans."
"What is that?" Daisy asked her
"It's one of those money-making plates. There were a
whole bunch of them inside a plastic bag." You know what
this means?" Cookie smiled
"That the Crows are not planning to rob the bank. But to
replace their fake money with the bank's real money."
And they would never know the difference until it was
too late." Vicky answered her
"Oh wow, now what? The cops will never believe that
they've a bunch of counterfeiters in our town. Even
if we show them those plates and ask them about it,
the Crows will just lie about it." Sammy replied
"Hey,
Didn't Amy Bell write an article about counterfeiting
for the local newspaper a few weeks ago?" Maybe
she can give us some advice on what we can do next."
Daisy told them
Chapter 5:
The next afternoon, they went to visit Amy over
at the local newspaper office. And after she heard the
whole story
"Oh wow, have you guys told the cops about this?
"No, they'd probably just laugh at us if we did. Got
any advice that can help us out?" Tommy asked her
"Yeah, you're probably right. But if I were you guys, I'd
show them those metal plates that you found." I bet
after you show it to them, they'd get a search warrant and
take it from there." Amy suggested
"Okay, meet us back at the clubhouse in about an hour,"
Cookie told Tommy and Sammy once they were back
outside
"Why, where are you guys going?" Sammy asked her
"I want to see if we can find some more of those metal
plates. Before we go to the police." Cookie answered
A few hours later, the boys arrived at their clubhouse
"Wow, I can't believe that they're not here yet."
A voice coming from behind them interrupted
"Well, hello boys, I believe that you and your friends
Have something that belongs to me."
"We don't know what you're talking about?"
Tommy smirked
"I guess your mothers never taught you kids that it's
not nice to take things that don't belong to you.
Now, why don't you just return it, and we'll forget about
this whole thing ever happened." Mr. Crow smirked back
"Like I said, we don't know what you're talking about?
We don't have anything that belongs to you."
Tommy shrugged. Mr. Crow was about to answer him
Back when a voice cried out
"Okay, Crow, hold it right there!"
Chapter 6:
They all turned around and noticed that the chief of
police along the girls were standing by the doorway
"Now, now, chief, there seems to be some misunderstanding
going on."
"Just save the excuses, Crow, these ladies have already
filled me in on what kind of misunderstanding you're
having." The chief frowned
"Oh, for heaven's sakes, chief, you really don't believe
them, do you?" Mr. Crow snorted
"Do yourself a big favor, Crow, quit with the innocent act
We already searched your house and found the rest of
your fake stash. Along with more money plates."
The chief informed him. Mr. Crow was so confused and
shocked that he just gave himself up
Later that day, the gang was having an ice cream
Celebration at the local ice cream shop
"Well, it looks like we showed them. That, when it
comes to solving cases, you can't beat us!"
Cookie laughed
"Cookie, you couldn't be more right, we totally agree!"
The rest of the gang also laughed. Before they
all click their ice cream bowls together
