Rain Forest
Did you hear the green?
Did you see it burn?
As time called out and I felt bad about
IT!
NO!!! I talked to the sky
and it hid itself in overcast
and peeked through
and cried out
with rays of sun,
loud and shrill
and pointed and straight.
It directed my attention
to the ominous black
spirit on the horizon.
And when I turned,
suddenly,
it scampered back
behind its mask
and wept!
