Reverend Matthew Part 2

Author's note
Part 2 takes place 1 second after part 1

He pulled up a chair and sat in front of the Reverend. There was a long pause whwere both men just sa there and lokked at each other. Then, Reverend Matthew broke the silence.
"What do you want?" He asked.
The man in the black tie semmed amused by the question. "What do I want? How about 2 million bucks, a jag, a decent job, and a woman that lokks better than the monster I'm with now.
that's what I want." He leaned back in his chair and crossed his legs. "But I don't think you can give me any of that. Am I right?" The Reverend nodded. the man in the black tie smiled.
"Thought so."
Reverend Mathhew struggled against the ropes, but it was useless; they were tied too tightly. "Why are you doing this then?" He would have to do something to keep the man from pressing
that button.
"To tell you the truth, Reverend, I have no idea why I'm doing this. Maybe I've lost my marbles. Maybe this is my way of having fun. Hell, Reverend, you might be dreaming."
He knew he wasn't dreaming. He wished he was dreaming, and this would all just go away in the morning, but that wasn't going to happen.
"So you're just going to sit here and threaten to kill my family?" He wanted out.
"Yeah doesn't that sound like fun to you? Or are you not having as much fun as me?"
The Reverend shook his head.
"Okay, I'm sorry. I promise to make it more fun." He grinned wickedly. "This is an all-or-nothing bet, Reverend.
You have everything to gain, and everything to lose. If you can solve this
riddle, I will untie you and you will never see me or my men again." This time it wasn't a Bible Question.
"What is black and white and red all over?"
Reverend Matthew suddenly felt very joyous. "A newspaper." It sprand from his lips before he could think.
"Well, that is true, Reverend, but the answer I was looking for for was a skunk with a diaper rash. Sorry but you lose."
Another man stepped through the hotel door with the number 63 on it. The man held a small pistol. At the same time, the man in the black tie jumped up
and grabbed the detenator. The Reverend strained against the ropes as hard as he could, but still nothing bugded.
"I'm sorry it eorked out like this Reverend, but this is what hapeens when you run into crazy people like me." He pushed down on the button. Reverend Matthew didn't have
much time to mourner though, because he was shot three times in the bellyby the man in the black tie's henchmen. Bloodmade a huge spot on his shirt. The last thing he said before dying
was: "Well, at least I get to see my family again in heaven, right?"
The man in the black tie smiled. "Reverend, I think you are going to be dissapointed."

Dianna Matthew arrived at her non-blown up house at about 6:34 P.M. There was a note on the door:

Mrs. Matthew, I'm sorry, but I have killed you husband
-Man in the black tie.

The end

"The man in the black tie" is the second story in what I hope to be about five
stories. The first story was "The cat and the shotgun." "Twine" will probably be the third
story.
I think I am going to call the series "The insanities of hotel room 63."
