As I stare into the fire I see images,
Images of you and me,
When my heart was still new,
And my worries were so few.
These images so many,
Images of our warm embraces,
Of our hour long talks,
And short but fulfilling walks.
Images that were once so comforting,
Of the nights we laid side by side,
These images that fill my mind,
I only wish I could leave behind.
False images that I once cherished,
Now opening my eyes to the truth,
The truth of your deceiving eyes,
That continuously told me nothing but lies.
As I stare into the fire I see images,
Images that broke my heart,
My heart once content,
Now full of resent.
These images are painful memories,
Memories of a love I once knew,
That felt so true at the start,
Until you tore my heart apart.
