Why do you like writing?
Russell Huneke: It's a release and a way to get my thoughts down on paper. I enjoy bringing the reader into my own world and being creative.
When did you start writing and why?
Russell Huneke: I started writing in the early 1990s because I was reading a lot of Stephen King and thought I would enjoy writing like that as well.
How long have you been writing?
Russell Huneke: About 18 years.
What is the best book you have ever read?
Russell Huneke: The Shining. That book scared the hell out of me and was very entertaining. Right up my alley!
Who is your favorite author?
Russell Huneke: Stephen King, because he is so imaginative. But I also love the style of Richard Matheson as well.
What is the best story you have ever written?
Russell Huneke: I think it would be one called "Car Games". It's in my new collection, Twilight Ruminations.
What is some advice you would give new writers?
Russell Huneke: NEVER GIVE UP! Keep plugging away. Keep trying. And keep all of your early work so that over the years you can see how much you've improved!
