INK STAIN

This stain of ink,
So dark and impure
On the flawless pale of skin.
So potent,
So significant-
Yet all meaning held hidden.
Devotion unnoticed.
This stain of life
Marking the end of the war,
This right of passage
And the harmony now.
Marking this kindred soul
That led her here,
A dark guide along her way.
This stain of time,
Not ruining flesh
But enhancing,
Pleasing.
A way to hold in ink
The years that
Could fade away.
