Baby Doll

Baby Doll

Great big eyes and a button nose
An old tablecloth cut to fit as clothes
Mop like hair and a red moon smile
Sewn right on her face so she couldn’t cry
But this little child who needs her does

Baby doll I am lonely
Comfort me, oh please
Baby doll I am lonely
Comfort me, oh please

Behind the door with the shoes and toys
Not a hiding place from the thunder noise
But a sanctuary beyond angry hands
And a sleeping place when the storm demands
And this little child grips her all night long

Baby doll I am lonely
Comfort me, oh please
Baby doll I am lonely
Comfort me, oh please

God bless Mommy, she shouldn’t have to live in fear
I pray Daddy doesn’t find me here

Baby doll I am lonely
Comfort me, oh please
Baby doll I am lonely
Comfort me, oh please
