Title: Grandpa Singin’
His Hair was kinda Ratty
His face was weathered old
His smile was always present
His eyes were never cold
His hands were crippled slightly
A cane in them he’d hold
His life reflected the Father’s love
And His Heart was made of Gold
I can still hear Grandpa Singin’
Amazing Grace
And With a twinkle in his eye
I’ll Fly Away
He had Blessed Assurance
For He knew the Word
Love came to him on a Snow White Dove
That he said was not a bird
He worked long and hard
On his farm all day
But I never heard him complain
And under his breath
When He was alone
You could hear “In Jesus’ Name”
On the back porch churnin’ butter
He’d stop and whittle for awhile
When life got tough as it often does
He’d rock me with a smile
I can still hear Grandpa Singin’
Amazing Grace
And With a twinkle in his eye
I’ll Fly Away
He had Blessed Assurance
For He knew the Word
Love came to him on a Snow White Dove
That he said was not a bird
SPOKEN PART
At the age of 96
We laid grandpa to rest
Folks came from miles around
All dressed up in their Sunday best
He had touched the lives of so very many
In His own special and loving way
With The gates of heaven open wide
I can still hear the angels play
I can still hear Grandpa Singin’
Amazing Grace
Someday we’ll be together again
I’ll Fly Away
I have Blessed Assurance
I got it on good word
Like Grandpa I’ll be carried away
On the wings of a snow white bird
Like Grandpa I’ll be carried away
On the wings of a snow white bird
