Why do you like writing?
Kevin Schofield: I'm ambivalent about writing; sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't.

When did you start writing and why?
Kevin Schofield: When I was an infant at school. I don't remember why, but I suspect it might have had something to do with the fact that my teachers were rather keen on corporal punishment.

How long have you been writing?
Kevin Schofield: About fifty years.

What is the best book you have ever read?
Kevin Schofield: Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman, Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K Jerome, 1984 by George Orwell, Etc, Etc.

Who is your favorite author?
Kevin Schofield: Emily Bronte.

What is the best story you have ever written?
Kevin Schofield: What a question!

What is some advice you would give new writers?
Kevin Schofield: When you go to the pub always take a pen and paper with you. It's bloody infuriating when a sentence comes into your mind and you have nothing to write it down with.
