Why do you like writing?
DreamPretty: It makes me feel good and I like reading what I've written afterwards and being a creator.

When did you start writing and why?
DreamPretty: I wrote in journals since I was little, then wrote some poetry, but wrote my first real stories in college.

How long have you been writing?
DreamPretty: A few years I guess.

What is the best book you have ever read?
DreamPretty: Very hard to say. I've read so many! "Beauty" by Sheri S. Tepper is at the top of my list, although a less-known book, Tomoe Gozen, is my all time favorite. Jessica Amanda Salmonson is an amazing writer!

What is the best story you have ever written?
DreamPretty: I like "Blackout in Vegas" but I am hoping that "In Search of Helen" will surpass it.

What is some advice you would give new writers?
DreamPretty: Write as often as you can...short stories, poems, journals, or books -- whatever suits you best. And if you can't write, read.
